Making your application

Information for applicants

Before completing the application you should read the guidance under Information for Applicants.

Application form - Parts A and B

Once you have considered the data in the Information for Applicants you can complete your application online. If you prefer to have an application pack (including Parts A and B of the application form) emailed to you, please contact us.  Your completed form can then be sent to us at jprecruitment@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.

Part A should be completed with your personal details. Completion of Part B will enable you to demonstrate that you have the necessary qualities to become a Justice of the Peace. Only Part B will be used by the selection panel to draw up the shortlist for interview. Part A will be supplied to the Interview Panel.

Equality information form

Completion of the equality information form is voluntary but it is a very important part of the recruitment process and your help in completing it would be very much appreciated.

Monitoring recruitment and selection procedures is one way of enabling the Judicial Appointments Board and Justice of the Peace Advisory Committee to check the effectiveness of the appointment process and ensure it is fair and non-discriminatory.

The monitoring form will be separated from your application form and you can be assured that it is handled anonymously and confidentially. It will not be passed to the selection panel.
